Our Policy

PrettyFootsie respects the intellectual property rights of others. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond to valid copyright infringement notices.

Before Filing a DMCA Notice

Consider whether the use of your work may be fair use. Fair use is a legal doctrine that permits limited use of copyrighted material without permission for purposes such as education, commentary, or transformative works.

If you're unsure, consult with an attorney before filing a DMCA notice.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

To file a valid DMCA takedown notice, you must provide the following information in writing:

  • 1. Identification of copyrighted work: Describe the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list.
  • 2. Identification of infringing material: Provide the URL or specific location of the allegedly infringing material so we can locate it.
  • 3. Contact information: Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • 4. Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • 5. Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • 6. Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat Infringers

We will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Important Warning

Filing a false or fraudulent DMCA notice may result in legal liability. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney's fees, if you knowingly materially misrepresent that material is infringing.
